The Indian women’s team failed to make it to the final of the ICC World T20 tournament last night after they suffered a seven wicket loss to Australia.

Chasing 120, India defeated Australia by seven gates of the first women’s semifinal at Beausejour Stadium here. Blackwell’s 49-ball 61 put her on course. Leah Pulton’s 26-ball unbeaten 30 settled the matter.

The Indian women deserve praise for an inspiring run in the competition.

Ellyse Perry was the best of Aussie Bowling youngster taking 1-19 in four overs for top quality seam bowling.

India Captain Jhulan Goswami is confident to stop the Australian Juggernaut when they conflict in the first semifinal of the women T20 World Cup at Beausejour Cricket Ground here tomorrow.

The only trouble is that India is up against the mighty Australians now: they meet them in the semifinals Thursday at the light immediately after the men’s clash between England and Sri Lanka. They will one way or another have to find a way past its all-round ability, based on experience. Australia has well won all their matches in the second group to start as favorites here.
