The Indian women’s team failed to make it to the final of the ICC World T20 tournament last night after they suffered a seven wicket loss to Australia.

Chasing 120, India defeated Australia by seven gates of the first women’s semifinal at Beausejour Stadium here. Blackwell’s 49-ball 61 put her on course. Leah Pulton’s 26-ball unbeaten 30 settled the matter.

The Indian women deserve praise for an inspiring run in the competition.

Ellyse Perry was the best of Aussie Bowling youngster taking 1-19 in four overs for top quality seam bowling.

A 57-run stand from 52 balls between Poonam Rauter (44) and Harmanpreet Kaur (24) was the foundation of India innings, but they usually lacked the power to affect the overall limits.

Australia lost a wicket in the first of their hunting, Jhulan Goswami Ellyse Villani bowling with a delivery that changed the way of the bat and thigh pad.

England made all the right moves here on Thursday to conquer Sri Lanka by seven gates, and on to the finals of the ICC World Twenty20. The victory was created by a balanced and varied English attack, controlled Sri Lanka 128 for 6.

After losing four quick wickets, Angelo Mathews and Chamara Kapugedera take some responsibility. There was only one massive 45-ball 58 from all-rounder Angelo Mathews, who took the Sri Lankans past 125-run mark.

He put together a crucial 46-run fifth wicket partnership with Chamara Kapugedera. Mathews refused off-wheel Graeme Swann over the center of the door to six and struck paceman Stuart Broad over the point fence.

Kevin Pietersen marked the birth of his first son by govern England in the finals of the ICC World Twenty20, when he continued his opening serial form with an unbeaten 42 from 26 balls in a inclusive seven wicket victory. Back in the side of his paternity dash back to England, built Pietersen on the forceful action Craig Kieswetter and Michael Lumb, who added 68 for the first hatch in eight overs as the Sri Lankan sub-par total of 128 for six were required down with four overs to spare.

The only trouble is that India is up against the mighty Australians now: they meet them in the semifinals Thursday at the light immediately after the men’s clash between England and Sri Lanka. They will one way or another have to find a way past its all-round ability, based on experience. Australia has well won all their matches in the second group to start as favorites here.

India, however, can boast boats, competition top run-getter and wicket-taker: the middle of the bat Mithali Raj (129 runs) and off-spinner Diana David (9 gates).

The Australian women have had a victorious run in World Cup, but Goswami is hardly anxious.

“We’ve beaten Australia in 50 overs World Cup Down Under. So we are good-looking much convinced that we can beat them in this format as well,” Jhulan.

“Our girls have been in good shape. Sulakshana, Poonam and Mithali have been in good scratch. We hope they will continue to do,” says Vidya Yadav, leader of the Indian team. Vidya, who played for Hyderabad to the 1990s, has been involved in promoting women’s fight back for two decades and is also the sister of Shivlal Yadav, a former test administrator and current BCCI president. In bowling efforts have been formally Diana David picking snapping 9 Wickets of the three matches, including two four-wicket hauls.

A road to the semi-finals, India lost to New Zealand by 10 runs and loose Pakistan and Sri Lanka as categorical margins.

West Indies captain Chris Gayle lamented the home fans an “absolutely terrible” screen that left host World Twenty20 in mortifying way Tuesday.

Gayle made need a credible win over Australia to qualify for the semifinals, but hope this victory disappeared after they were bowled out for just 105 in the day-night home match at Beausejour Stadium.

Brad Haddin shattered 42 from 46 balls as Australia downed host West Indies by six wickets on Tuesday to reach the semifinals of the World Twenty20.

Australia recorded its fifth in a straight line victory in the tournament by coasting to the win total of 109-4 with 22 balls to standby at Beausejour Stadium.

Such a humble goal proved to be a problem for Australia, who will continue his expedition to claim the trophy that has escaped them so far with a four settlements against defending champions Pakistan on Friday.
