<p><span style="font-weight: bold;">George Miller June 28, 1941 – March 5, 2003, born</span> George Wade Dornberger, was a stand-up comedian. He first performed standup at age 21 and made his network television debut on The Tonight Show in 1976. He appeared on national television programs several times in the 1970s,<span style="font-weight: bold;"> 1980s and 1990s,</span> and was a friend to many in the West Coast comedy scene who later enjoyed tremendous success, including David Letterman and <span style="font-weight: bold;">Jerry Seinfeld</span>. He died on March 5, 2003, after a long bout with<span style="font-weight: bold;"> leukemia,</span> from a blood clot in his brain.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: bold;">LOS ANGELES</span> (AP) &#8211; George Miller, a stand-up<span style="font-weight: bold;"> comedian</span> who appeared on David Letterman&#8217;s late-night shows more than any other comic, has died. He was 61.</p>
<p>Miller, who had <span style="font-weight: bold;">suffered from leukemia</span> for years, died Wednesday at<span style="font-weight: bold;"> UCLA Medical</span> Center of complications from a blood clot in his brain.</p>
<p>Miller appeared on <span style="font-weight: bold;">NBC</span>&#8216;s &#8220;Late Night with<span style="font-weight: bold;"> David Letterman&#8221;</span> and CBS&#8217; &#8220;Late Show with David Letterman&#8221; <span style="font-weight: bold;">56 times </span>in two decades.</p>

<p>The <span style="font-weight: bold;">Aboriginal musical comedy Bran</span> Nue Dae and the modern revenge western Red Hill will screen in the German capital when the<span style="font-weight: bold;"> festival starts on February 11.</span></p>
<p>Neither are in <span style="font-weight: bold;">official competition</span> but both will be hoping to attract the attention of some of the 19,000 international film professionals, including about<span style="font-weight: bold;"> 4,000 journalists,</span> who attend the festival.<br />
&#8220;I was inspired by <span style="font-weight: bold;">film-makers</span> such as George Miller, <span style="font-weight: bold;">Robert Rodriguez</span> and the Coen Brothers, all directors who made their first films outside the system and risked everything in the <span style="font-weight: bold;">process.</span></p>
