George Miller June 28, 1941 – March 5, 2003, born George Wade Dornberger, was a stand-up comedian. He first performed standup at age 21 and made his network television debut on The Tonight Show in 1976. He appeared on national television programs several times in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, and was a friend to many in the West Coast comedy scene who later enjoyed tremendous success, including David Letterman and Jerry Seinfeld. He died on March 5, 2003, after a long bout with leukemia, from a blood clot in his brain.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – George Miller, a stand-up comedian who appeared on David Letterman’s late-night shows more than any other comic, has died. He was 61.

Miller, who had suffered from leukemia for years, died Wednesday at UCLA Medical Center of complications from a blood clot in his brain.

Miller appeared on NBC‘s “Late Night with David Letterman” and CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman” 56 times in two decades.

The Aboriginal musical comedy Bran Nue Dae and the modern revenge western Red Hill will screen in the German capital when the festival starts on February 11.

Neither are in official competition but both will be hoping to attract the attention of some of the 19,000 international film professionals, including about 4,000 journalists, who attend the festival.
