Maharaja Ganga Singh University (MGS) has established on 7th June, 2003. In the year 2004, around 92444 students were registered in various fecultiesfor various courses.

Vidyasagar University was started on 29th September 1981 by the State of West Bengal to Commemorate Pandit Iswar Chandra Bandyopadhyay.

The University of Kota (UOK) is a public university in Kota, Rajasthan, India. It was established with the assent of Governor of Rajasthan and recognized by UGC in 2003 under the state act. It offers courses at the undergraduate and post-graduate level. His Excellency Sh. S.K. Singh, Governor of Rajasthan is the Chancellor of the university. North Bengal University (NBU) was created by Act of the Legislative Assembly of West Bengal in 1962. and given the mandate of providing education, training and research in various branches of advanced learning, and promote dissemination of knowledge to fulfill growing socio-economic and technical manpower needs in the six North Bengal districts and the neighboring state of Sikkim. Campus covers an area of about 330 acres 9 km outside Siliguri and Bagdogra Airport in the Terai region of Darjeeling district. The University Act was revised under West Bengal Act XXV in 1981 and came into force with effect from 16 September 1981.

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan is being run by Government of India pioneered by former Indian President Atal Bihari Vajpayee to achievement of universalization of elemantary education in a time bound manner, as adopted by the 86th amendment of the Constitution of India making free and compulsory education for children of age between 6–14 (estimated to be 205 million in number in 2001) a fundamental right. The programme aims to achieve the goal of universalization of elementary education of satisfactory quality by 2010.
