Now I am sure it will not surprise you that the United States Authorities denied the request of Hustler magazine. On February 25, Fred Rosen of the Hustler Magazine had requested the decapitated photos, claiming that he had a right to photos via the open records. Rosen filed this unusual request with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Another hiker on Blood Mountain Trail reported seeing a man with a similar police baton clipped to his belt.

Hilton confessed to murdering Emerson when the prosecution agreed to take the death penalty off the table if he led investigators to her body, which he did. He claimed that he had asked Emerson for her debit card PIN number and when she failed to give him the correct one he kept her for three days before killing her.
