Laurie Berkner Live Birthday Party Concert By Band

Laurie Berkner born March, 1969, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France of American parents is a musician best known for her work as a children’s musical artist. Berkner plays guitar and sings in the Laurie Berkner Band, along with pianist Susie Lampert, bassist Adam Bernstein, and drummer Bobby Golden.

Laurie Berkner, the melodic singing songstress that I most recently loved when I reviewed Rocketship Run, is back to raise awareness for a worthy organization called the Pajama Program by giving us a sort of singing Valentine. Laurie Berkner, is one of the most popular musicians for children in the world.

As a featured musician on Nick Jr. Jack’s Big Music Show, she is the also lead singer for the Laurie Berkner Band. Berkner who also writes children’s books, also gives her time to raise awareness for charity, and one of her favourites is an organization called the Pajama Program.

With her guitar, crystal-clear voice, and touching lyrics, Open Your Heart is a reminder to us parents that our little I do it myself offspring need us more than they’ll let on. But, I think this is also a perfect song to represent the Pajama Program which supplies warm pajamas and new storybooks to kids living in group homes, orphanages and homeless shelters. For these kids, the best Valentines come in fleece with little feet attached.

The Growing up in Princeton, New Jersey, Berkner was involved in choirs, bands and musical theater. As a student at Rutgers University, she toured Europe as a choir soloist and an orchestral guitar player. After working as a summer-camp music counselor, she spent several years as a children’s music specialist for day care centers and preschools in the New York area. The charity which offers supplies such as warm pajamas and story books to children who live in group homes, homeless shelters and orphanages.
