Australian skipper Ricky Ponting believes that his team is in good form after remaining victorious in all formats of the game at home this summer.
Ponting stressed out that the team goes in the right course, and said he was excited with the victory next to West Indies and Pakistan, in spite of having a moderately inexpert team.
Ricky Ponting has long-drawn-out on his thoughts about the number of ODIs in Australia every year and thinks Cricket Australia should cut plan in half. The ten one-Day Internationals that Australia plays this summer finished in mid-February, when school started again and watcher numbers dropped as the series went.
“With the 2015 World Cup in Australia, Cricket Australia has to match the daily games of the best they can, and encourage the best they can,” Ponting said the Australian. “The 50-over World Cup is still the height of the condensed game, there is no doubt about it, but it means you have to play ten one-day internationals this summer, or you can get by in performance five?” I do not think that would make a big difference. ”
The 35-year-old also insisted that much can be said about the presentation of the opposition, but said that his team did not allow them to take accountability in some of the games.
“This is the first time in nine years; we have been from side to side a summer home without behind a Test or one-day match. It is an unbelievable achievement, and is amazing that has probably been a bit unnoticed,” Ponting said.
“We set and maintain high standard, regardless of the opposition teams we played, and we barely gave them a snuffle. We have been central in almost all pale game if it was batting or bowling,” he added.
