Panaji: Goa is emerging as a drug and sex destination, the state’s Apex business lobbying group said.
The Goa Chamber of trade and Industry has issued strict caution to the state government urged to shore up its act on tourism, in a pre-budget note, which was submitted to Chief Minister Digambar Kamat on Tuesday.
“Tourism in Goa too late, get a bad reputation with Goa slowly as drugs and sex destination,” GCCI President Cesar Menezes said before the budget note. Lament the fact that Goa top grossing industry was in ruins, “said Menezes that much needed to be done on the tourism front in order to save the sector from ruin.
“There is no fundamental tourism and entertainment communications in the state. Problems with the law and order, and garbage should spell out punishment for state tourism,” he says.
He has also called for promotion of private contribution in the growth of tourism infrastructure in Goa.
