Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan was awarded Best Actor (Male) and Best Actor (female) prize, in that order, for its extraordinary results from the same film Paa at the 55th Idea Filmfare Awards 2009th.
Sri Devi and Boney Kapoor presented the Best Actress Award for Vidya Balan for Paa. An ecstatic Vidya Balan commented, “From nariyal this black lady has been an amazing journey in Filmfare. This was a smart sharp to the same host Shahrukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan, who had pulled a gag on her in the Filmfare Awards, had a few years back. SRK quipped Vidya presented a trophy, which they called the naa-real Award for her dress sense. Vidya Balan were chosen in the Best Actor (Female) category of the same year (2007) for Bhool Bhullaiyya.
Continued her blessing speech Vidya said: “I thank Balki (Director), my parents and Arundhati Nag. Also I will add that parenthood is a rewarding feeling, so I am very grateful that my son Auro that made me a mother.”
Amitabh Bachchan won theBest Male Award, and in his nonattendance, Vidya Balan award on his behalf.
