Samsung India today announced the global launch of the world’s first solar powered mobile phone, “Solar Guru” (Guru E1107) in the Indian market. The new phone allows its users to charge the battery all the places where the sun shines, so that users are not inconvenienced when phone battery is empty of the normal fee. Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Hon’ble Minister for New and Renewable Energy, and Mr. JS Shin, President & CEO, Samsung South West Asia HQ phone was launched at a ceremony held by the Company at its manufacturing plant complex at Noida.

Samsung Solar Guru comes in a compact design with essential cellular functions such as FM radio, MP3 ring tones, embedded games and a powerful flashlight. For consumer safety, phone Mobile Tracker, which automatically notifies when the SIM card is changed, or send an SOS message in an emergency.
Samsung Solar Guru (Samsung Guru 1107) is priced at Rs. 2799 / -. With the launch of this phone, Samsung India today a portfolio of over 50 mobile phones priced in the range between Rs.1649 / – to RS. 34,500 / -.
After its introduction in India Solar Guru has been launched in various markets, including Europe, Southeast Asia, Southwest Asia and Latin America in June 2009.
