Shoulder pads are back



This fashion seemed while Victoria Beckham wearing Eighties style shoulder pads, while she attempt her child’s function at school which have made a return to the runway, right now, Victoria Beckham has also been spotted with trying out the return old trend, which has filtered down to much of the High Street. It comes after fashion houses including in their latest catwalk collections Balenciaga and Balmain featured shoulder pads prominently.

Many women were choosing to buy the pads and then place them under existing clothing. Said by Camilla Ridley-Day who is the Daily Mail’s deputy fashion editor she added that also ‘It’s a cheap way to transform your wardrobe, those who wear shoulder pads feel more confident and it is a very strong style. It is a very severe look that Victoria Beckham has been wearing but you can still make it look good without being so extreme.’

‘Sales of our dresses, jackets, and blouses with built-in shoulder pads have been very strong, with the power shoulders trend set by designers such as Balmain said by Jo Hooper, of John Lewis. And they also add that ‘However, many are also doing it for themselves and buying multiple amounts of shoulder pads to add a power dressing touch to their working wardrobes.’

A stylist who dresses many of the country’s top female executives, Hannah O’Sullivan, said: ‘I advise women, especially those with a small frame, to pop shoulder pads in for meetings, particularly those dominated by male colleagues. ‘ And she add ‘ By going for power shoulders and emphasizing it by resting folded arms spread on the table, women can compete withsss the physical presence of men.’
