After creating history by launching India’s first moon mission Chandrayaan I, Indian Space Agency t is ready to challenge Google Earth with its own satellite mapping service called “Bhuvan”
While advertising service ISRO Chairman G Madhavan Nair, said:
“With Bhuvan we will be able to produce very local information that will be specific to just our own country. This information is available from this study will be useful in meeting very local issues such as floods, famine, development of infrastructure, education and much more ”
“The information about Bhuvan made wise and options for displaying the filtered data will be available. Initiatives from a number of local actors, as farmers, fishermen and the like, who knows the area inside out, will also be integrated with Bhuvan. This is the main reason for the greater need for public
ISRO expects the service will be launched over the next six months after March 2009, all infrastructure and software required for this service are already in place, and a prototype of Bhuvan should be ready by the end of November.
Bhuvan want pictures taken of ISRO seven remote sensing satellites at least a year ago. These eyes in the sky can take pictures of objects as small as a car on the way to build three-dimensional map of the world.

i think we should be proud that our country india had done this….thanks to ISRO and the scientist working over it…now we can say that world will now be seen through indian eyes…and at last happy independence day…..
